Kno-Wal-Lin to Participate in National Study of Patient Outcomes

Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice has been chosen to participate in a national study to determine the effectiveness of rehabilitation in a variety of settings. The one-year study, already underway, will compare patient outcomes at rehab centers, skilled nursing facilities and home care for total hip or knee replacement, fractured hip and acute stroke patients. The research study is being conducted by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, in collaboration with Northwestern University.

"Our agency was chosen to join this study because of our history of positive outcomes. This is a great opportunity for our clinicians to be involved in a national study and to learn about the relative effectiveness and efficiency of rehabilitation in these different settings," said Mike Rich, director of home care and therapies at Kno-Wal-Lin. KWL ranks in the top 25 percent of home care agencies nationwide, according to CMS, the reporting organization for the Medicare system.
